Lamp

This 12 x 12 Oil painting titled Lamp was inspired by Joseph William Turner’s Interior at Petworth from 1828. My passion for midcentury modernism goes beyond preservation. This painting is from the book Case Study Houses by Elizabeth A. T. Smith. It portrays the interior of Case Study House #1, designed by Julius Ralph Davidson 1945-1948 in Toluca Lake Avenue, North Hollywood.

The hanging lamp is by George Nelson, manufactured by Howard Miller, c. 1952, spun plastic fiber over steel wire.

For me, abstract expressionism bestows the ability to present emotions and atmosphere.

This original painting is available for sale without a frame. Painting and high-quality prints are available for purchase. Please contact me for additional information or requests.
